We met fellow foodies Ken and Jo when they were new to Niagara. We immediately loved their ethusiaism and they way they embraced their new home. They wanted to experience all that the area had to offer. They made it their mission to check out the food, wine, and things to do so that they could find out first hand what makes Niagara such an amazing place to live. Jo's blog Niagarafied shares those experieinces and lets us in on a few of those secrets.
Highbrook Bed and Breakfast is in Old Towne Niagara on the Lake. The rooms are fresh and decorated with London neighbourhoods in mind with names like St. James and Chelsea. They are a short walk from the shops and restaurants and just a quick bike or car ride to the wineries. The set up is lovely with a great room that guests share to read or have a glass of wine. They make a fantastic breakfast with items such as fresh made frittatas and muffins. We have recently partnered with Highbrook as part of their Foodie's Getaway package which is a great way to get the local experience.
One of our culinary partners, The Oban Inn has been providing excellent hospitality since 1824. Close to the lake and only minutes from the theatre and old towne Niagara on the Lake it is a splendid choice. Featuring an Aveda spa and a restaurant with outstanding food and service, it is too good to keep a secret. We love to drop by their beautiful lounge ourselves and enjoy a glass of VQA Niagara wine and charcuterie.
Located in the heart of the action of Niagara Falls, The Old Stone Inn is a boutique hotel that keeps you close to the sights but gives you a chance to retreat for a bit of rest and relaxation. This historic hotel is a three star property with a touch of beauty and elegance. It boasts a great wine list featuring many Niagara wineries and two dining options, The Flour Mill Restaurant and 1904 Bar. If you are looking for a place that is pet friendly this establishment welcomes your furry friends.
If you are planning a stay in Niagara on the Lake and are looking to be pampered a little then the properties at Niagara's Finest Hotels might just be the perfect spot. They offer three distinctly different properties in NOTL, Harbour House, Shaw Club and Charles Hotel. The Shaw Club has a more modern, private club kind of feel. This hotel has a spa and is home to another fine culinary partner, Zees Grill. Harbour House is located down near the harbour and has a sense of tranquility, luxury and comfort. The Charles Hotel was built in 1832 and brings a bit of history and style to Queen Street.
